The market capitalization of Commodity Chemicals industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 1.68 lakh crore, rising by 10.97%. It has marginally improved by 0.27% over last one week and softened by 0.47% in last one month while the market capitalization of Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd has inched up 6.12% and 17.03% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd stood at Rs 39.1 crore in Q2 FY26, plunging by 39.26% year-on-year, and gaining 1.85% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 29 crore, tanking 201.17% YoY and tumbling by 1474.65% sequentially. Total expenses witnessed a sharp rise of 22.24% to Rs 537.09 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 427.78 crore, witnessing a sharp rise of 65.68% YoY, while employee benefits expense was at Rs 19.42 crore, declining 7.66% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations declined by 15.32% to Rs 1735.52 crore, while net profit soared by 264.23% to Rs 167.91 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA witnessed a strong improvement of 5446% to Rs 53.87 crore, and PBT soared 393.98% to Rs 201.79 crore compared to previous TTM. The company's consolidated net cash flow from operating activities stood at Rs 130.73 crore in FY26, as against Rs 65.88 crore in FY25. Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd nosedived by 35.50% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has softened by 2.94% during the same period.
